It really doesn't
get any easier than this! And yet, it is elegant and
extremely useful.
Keep your eye out
for another use of the angel wing dangle coming up in
another project in this newsletter. (They also make the
most adorable earrings!)

For ours we
used
24kt gold plated SoftFlex, size .019,
with
gold filled crimp beads as stoppers to hold beads in place and form
the loops. For the top we formed a loop with Czech glass
seed beads and a top
drilled
freshwater pearl. For the bottom, we formed a smaller loop to attach
a dangle made from Czech glass beads and our
darling
angel wing component bead. For the dangle, put beads on
a
head pin, form a loop at the top to hang it by. (We cut the head
end off and formed a spiral end using chainnose
pliers for an accent.) The remaining beads are seed beads
and
freshwater pearls. They charge over $7.00 for these in stores!

EXTREME MAKEOVER - HANGING DOOR BELLS
|

Ring in the season
with easy hanging door knob bells.
|

BEFORE: We bought inexpensive, pre-made door knob bells for
under $5.00 at a "big-box" type store.
|
|
AFTER: We simply remade the strands
using
.019 SoftFlex,
crimp beads and Czech glass beads. Then accented with metal snowflake
cut-outs (under $1.50 found at arts/crafts type store) that
we wrapped with
24 gauge red sculpting wire and Czech glass seed beads. It's also a
wonderful way to use up orphan beads and loose odds and
ends.
Cost: less than $2.00 Time: 1 1/2 hours

HOLIDAY HAT JEWELS
|
|
Add holiday magic to
your winter hat with jeweled hat pins!
|
|
|
|
We used our gold tone,
hat pin finding with end stopper and
a
lampwork focal bead accented
with
vintage glass beads
and
vermeil spacers. To keep the beads from sliding we used
a
gold filled 4mm smart bead which has a gripping gasket inside to hold
it in place. (A
crimp bead could also be use but doesn't look quite as nice.) For our
dangle we used that darling angel dangle from the bookmark
above made with the
angel wing component bead. (Angel wing component is also available in
silver
and copper!)

Kevlar beading thread and
size 12 beading needle stitched a simple design
using
chandelier earring components, Swarovski crystals, and Czech glass beads.
